Beeching, Richard (1913–1985)
| British scientist and administrator. He was chair of the British Railways Board 1963–65, producing the controversial Beeching Report 1963, which advocated concentrating resources on intercity passenger traffic and freight, at the cost of closing many rural and branch lines. Created a baron 1965. |
