Belkin, Boris (1948– )

Russian violinist. After making his first public appearance at the age of six, he studied at the Moscow Conservatory and emigrated to Israel in 1974. He made his western debut under Zubin Mehta, gave further concerts with the Berlin and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras and the Cleveland Orchestra, and played with the London and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras 1987–89. His recordings include concertos by Paganini, Prokofiev, Sibelius, and Shostakovich.
