Ben Barka, Mehdi (1920–1965)

Moroccan politician. He became president of the National Consultative Assembly in 1956 on the country's independence from France. He was assassinated by Moroccan agents with the aid of the French secret service.

His assassination followed his alleged involvement in an attempt on King Hassan's life and for supporting Algeria in Algerian–Moroccan border disputes.
