Bennis, Warren (Gamaliel) (1925– )

US psychologist, management educator, and consultant. Bennis is regarded as a pioneer in the field of leadership studies. Trained as an economist, he had a varied academic career before joining the University of Southern California in 1979, serving as professor and distinguished professor of the Marshall School of Business and founding chair of the university's Leadership Institute. Bennis became well known as a consultant to major corporations and he developed behaviourist-based management theories in his numerous books on leadership and organizational development and change.
