Berle, Milton (1908–2002)
| US stand-up comedian. Berle had been acted in silent films as a child and in musicals in the 1940s before hosting the television variety show, Texaco Star Theatre, 1948–56. His show became a family favourite and he was known throughout America as ‘Uncle Miltie’. |
