Madagascar teal

A small duck apparently confined to a few small lakes and marshy areas in western Madagascar and now severely threatened with extinction. It is thought that there are at most a few hundred teal left alive and the opening of an airstrip nearby greatly increases the risk of sport shooting. (Species Anas bernieri.)
