Berrien Springs

Small town in southwest Michigan, 76 km/47 mi southwest of Kalamazoo, on the St Joseph River; population (1990) 2,000. It is situated in a fruit growing, winemaking, and dairying area. Baskets, brooms, car parts, and tools are manufactured. There are medicinal springs and attendant resorts in the city and region.

Berrien Springs was founded in 1830. It is home to Andrews University (1874) and Emmanuel Missionary College.
