Bethany

City in central Oklahoma, 11 km/7 mi west of Oklahoma City; population (1990) 20,100. A residential suburb enclosed by the larger city, it also has a variety of light industries.

It was settled in 1906 by Nazarene church members and is the site of two church-affiliated colleges.

Bethany

Town in West Virginia, just northeast of West Liberty and 19 km/12 mi northeast of Wheeling; population (1990) 1,100. Bethany College (1840) is here.
