| He was born in London, England, and moved to Hertfordshire at the age of nine. He studied acting at London's Drama Centre and worked as a busker before making his theatrical debut in a West End revival of An Inspector Calls. He went on to star in the British television mystery series Wycliffe (1994). He also appeared in the miniseries Coming Home (1998), a period piece based on the novel by Rosamunde Pilcher. He is married to US actor Jennifer Connelly, his co-star in A Beautiful Mind. |
