Bhavnagar

Port in Gujarat, northwest India, in the Kathiawar peninsula on the Gulf of Khambat, an inlet of the Arabian Sea; population (2001) 511,000. It is a centre for textile industry. It was capital of the former Rajput princely state of Bhavnagar.
