polypropylene

Plastic made by the polymerization, or linking together, of propene molecules (CH2CHCH3). Polypropylene is one of the most important plastics and has a large number of different uses, including packaging, house ware, textiles, carpets, artificial turf, and ropes. It is a very light synthetic fibre, which does not absorb moisture, and so stays dry and warm. These properties make it a good fibre for use in clothing designed for cold environments.
