Bidar

Town in Karnataka state, southwest India; population (1991) 130,800. It is a centre for the manufacture of Bidriware, ironware with fine silver and gold inlay. There are numerous fine Muslim palaces and tombs in and around the town, which was the home of the Bahmani kings in the 15th century.
