Bihzad, Kamal al-Din

    0.04 sec.

Bihzad, Kamal al-Din (c. 1450–1536)

Persian painter of miniatures. Although only a few works are firmly attributed to him, he is widely regarded as the finest painter of the Persian miniature. His work shows a novel subtlety in composition and use of colour, as well as enhanced realism, as in his Khamsa of Nizami 1478 (British Museum, London).
