Bilson, Malcolm (1935– )

US pianist. After studying in Paris and Vienna he taught at Cornell University from 1968. He gave many concerts in the USA and Europe in 18th-century music using period instruments, and was director of the series On Original Instruments at Merkin Hall, New York. He has played Chopin and Schumann on an 1825 Alois Graf piano, and given Mozart concertos with John Eliot Gardiner (also recorded), Frans Brueggen, and Nicholas McGegan. He was co-founder of the Amadè Trio in 1974.
