Type of trading estate where the results of academic research are developed for the commercial market, especially in the areas of science and technology. They are usually located close to a university on an edge-of-town greenfield site where there is plenty of space for parking and further expansion, and close to a good transport network. The activities on a science park foster a collaboration between academic and industrial interests.

It occupies 4,700 square feet in the Mann Biomedical Park in the Valencia Industrial Center, and it includes a 2,000-square-foot ``clean room'' lab like those in industries regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
