Bixby

Town in northeastern Oklahoma, 24 km/15 mi south of Tulsa, on the Arkansas River; population (2000) 13,300. It is a business centre for producers of oil from nearby wells as well as of grain, vegetables, and pecan nuts. Food processing and tourism are also important.

Bixby was founded in 1893.
