Blachut, Beno (1913–1985)

Czech tenor. He made his debut in Olomouc in 1939, as Jeník, and sang with the Prague National Theatre from 1941; his British debut with the company was at the Edinburgh Festival in 1970, as Matej Brouček in the British premiere of Janáček's The Excursions of Mr Brouček. His other roles included Lača, Dalibor, and the Prince in Rusalka. He sang in Vienna as a guest.
