Black Isle

Peninsula in east Highland unitary authority, Scotland, lying between the Cromarty Firth and Beauly Firth, with a coastline of 83 km/52 mi. Forests cover the higher central terrain, which rises to 255 m/837 ft at Mount Eagle, but much of the remainder is fertile agricultural land. Cromarty and Fortrose are the principal villages in the area.
