Blackwell, David H(arold) (1919– )

US statistician. Blackwell was a member of the National Academy of Sciences and taught at the Berkeley Department of Statistics . His distinguished career also included terms as a Rosenwald Fellow at Princeton's Institute for Advanced Study (1941–42), president of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (1955), and a faculty research lecturer at the University of California (1971), specializing in Markoff chains and sequential analysis.
