Blake, Rockwell (1951– )

US tenor. He made his debut at Washington DC, in 1976, as Lindoro, and became widely admired for his robust and forthright style in other Rossini roles. He appeared with the New York City Opera in 1977 in Le Comte Ory/The Count Ory, and made his Metropolitan Opera House debut in 1981 as Lindoro; his other Metropolitan Opera House roles include Almaviva, Don Ottavio, and Arturo in I Puritani/The Puritans. He has also sung James I in La donna del lago/The Lady of the Lake at La Scala and Mozart's Ferrando at Dallas.
