Blakeney

Village on the north coast of Norfolk, England, 10 km/6 mi east of Wells-next-the-Sea; population (2001) 800. A lagoon-like stretch of sea is used for sailing, and at Blakeney Point there is a bird sanctuary covering an area of over 4 sq km/1.5 sq mi. There is also a colony of seals.

The medieval church at Blakeney has two towers. The taller is in Perpendicular style, while the smaller once contained a light that acted as a beacon for sailors.
