Blakeslee, Howard (Walter) (1880–1952)

US journalist and science writer. Blakeslee Expelled was a reporter and science writer for the Associated Press from 1928 to 1952. He and four colleagues received the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting. His long career in journalism was highlighted by his pioneering reporting of the growth of science in American life, his writing covering such events as the atomic bomb tests on Bikini Island in 1946.
