Blegen, Judith (1941– )

US soprano. She made her opera debut at Nuremberg in 1963, and sang Mélisande at Spoleto in 1964. She appeared at the Vienna Staatsoper in 1969, as Rosina, and at the New York Metropolitan Opera House from 1970 as Papagena, Zerlina, and Sophie. In 1969, at the US premiere of Menotti's Help! Help! the Globoniks! in Santa Fe, she sang the role of Emily and played the violin. Her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, was in 1975, as Despina.
