Blind River

Blind River

Town in central Ontario, Canada, 126 km/78 mi southeast of Sault Ste Marie, on the North Channel of Lake Huron, at the mouth of the Mississaggi River; population (1991) 3,400. It is a resort and has uranium mines that produce 40% of the national output.

It was a fur trading site before the mid-19th century and subsequently a lumbering centre.
