Bloomfield, Michael John (1959– )

US astronaut. He has flown on three space shuttle missions, aboard Atlantis (September 1997) to dock with the Russian space station Mir, with Endeavour (November 2000) to deliver supplies to the first resident crew of the International Space Station ISS, and on Atlantis (April 2002) to install the SO truss, the backbone of the ISS. He had logged 753 hours in space by 2004. Bloomfield was selected as an astronaut in 1995.
