Bloomingdale

Town in northeastern Illinois, a residential suburb 43 km/27 mi northwest of Chicago; population (1990) 16,600.

Bloomingdale

Former district of upper west Manhattan Island, New York, USA; fertile lands between what is now west Midtown and Manhattanville, on the Hudson River at 125th Street. Flower growing was an important industry. The name was long used of parts of the Upper West Side.
