Blue Earth

Blue Earth

City and administrative headquarters of Faribault County in southern Minnesota, 45 km/28 mi west of Albert Lea, on the Blue Earth River; population (1990) 3,700. Established in 1856 in an agricultural and dairying area, it was named after the clay American Indians dug along the river.
