Blumentritt, Gunther (1892-1967)

German general. A general staff officer, he was chief of operations for Field Marshal von Rundstedt throughout the Polish and French campaigns 1939-40, and planned French counterinvasion defences 1942. He commanded several units in his own right 1944-45 then surrendered to the British May 1945.
