Bo Hai

The part of the Yellow Sea that lies between the Shandong and Liaodong peninsulas in China. Within it are the Bohai Gulf and the Liaodong Gulf.

The Bohai Gulf is the bay formed by the angle between the Shandong Peninsula and the northern Hebei, or the area of water in front of Tianjin. The Huang He and Hai He rivers discharge into it.

The Liaodong Gulf is the northern area of the Bo Hai, between the peninsula and the mainland. The Liao He discharges into it.

Bohai Gulf is also the name used for the area when offshore oil finds in the southern part of the Bo Haiare are reported.
