Boberg, Ferdinand

    0.14 sec.

Boberg, Ferdinand (1860–1945)

Swedish architect. The most important exponent of early 20th-century architecture in Sweden, he designed mainly large-scale civic buildings in the style of US architects Henry Richardson and Louis Sullivan. Typical of his work is a contrast between large, plain areas and highly intricate art nouveau elements. His plan for a Nobel Festival Hall was rejected following criticisms by his chief rival Ragnar Östberg.
