Bobo-Dioulasso

Second-largest city in Burkina Faso, approximately 300 km/186 mi southwest of Ouagadougou; population (2005 est) 399,100. It is the country's chief trading and industrial centre, lying on the main Abidjan–Ouagadougou railway. Bobo-Dioulasso is also a centre for the distribution of refined petroleum products brought in by rail from the Côte d'Ivoire. Local agriculture includes groundnuts, maize, cotton, and rice.
