Bocholt

City in the Land (administrative region) of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, 69 km/43 mi northwest of Düsseldorf, near the Dutch border; population (1994) 70,200. The town's industries include textiles and engineering. Bocholt has a Renaissance Rathaus (town hall) and a 15th-century church.
