Bolling, Richard Walker (1916–1991)

US representative. Bolling worked in educational administration before joining the army in 1941. He fought in the Pacific, and served in Japan under General MacArthur. Awarded a Bronze Star, he was veterans' advisor to the University of Kansas before going to the US House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1949. Bolling held his seat for 34 years, and chaired the Select Committee on Committees and the Committee on Rules.
