Bolo, Paul (Pasha)

    0.02 sec.

Bolo, Paul (Pasha) (died 1918)

French traitor and confidence trickster. In February 1915 he gained the confidence of the Khedive of Egypt and got his backing for a scheme to get money from Germany to promote a campaign for peace in France. It was later discovered that before his arrest in September 1917 he had received some £300,000 from German sources. He was tried and executed for obtaining money from an enemy in order to create a pacifist movement in France.
