Bonnet, Charles (1720-1793)

Swiss naturalist and philosopher. He observed leaves and aphids and other insects, and published Traité d'insectologie/Treatise on Insectology (1745) and Recherches sur l'usage des feuilles dans les plantes/The Function of Leaves in Plants (1754). As his sight failed he turned to philosophy; his Contemplation de la nature/Contemplation of Nature was published 1764-65.
