Bonney, Charles (1813–1897)

Australian politician and overlander, born in England. He is claimed to be Australia's first overlander, having taken 10,000 sheep south from the Murray River to the Goulburn River in 1837 and the next year helping to overland the first stock to Adelaide. He was later an administrator and member of the House of Assembly in South Australia.
