Bononcini, Giovanni Maria (1642-1678)

Italian composer. He entered the service of Francis II, Duke of Modena, and became maestro di cappella of San Giovanni in Monte and in 1674 of Modena Cathedral. He wrote many instrumental and vocal compositions, and the theoretical work Musico prattico (1673).
