Boretz, Benjamin (1934– )

US composer and editor. He studied in New York with Lukas Foss, Darius Milhaud, and Roger Sessions. He has taught at Bard College from 1973 and was cofounder and editor of Perspectives of New Music 1961–84.

Group Variations I (1967).

Chamber

string quartet (1958), Liebeslied for piano (1974).

Group Variations II for computer (1971); Language, as a Music for speaker, piano, and tape (1980); other pieces involving sound on tape.
