Borg, Björn Rune (1956– )

Swedish tennis player. A right-handed player, he was known for his fitness and athleticism, and his accurate and reliable groundstrokes. He won the men's singles title at Wimbledon five times 1976–80, a record in the modern era. He also won six French Open singles titles 1974–75 and 1978–81. In 1990 Borg attempted a return to professional tennis, but he enjoyed little competitive success.
