Borodina, Olga (1963– )

Russian mezzo-soprano. She became a member of the Kirov Opera at St Petersburg in 1987, and has sung there and on tour to Europe and the USA as Olga, Marina, and Marfa. She made her Paris Opéra debut as Marina in 1992, and in the same year repeated the role at the New York Metropolitan Opera House with the Kirov. She sang at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, 1992–94, as Dalila, Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust, and Cenerentola. She is also admired as a concert artist; she gave a Tchaikovsky recital at the Wigmore Hall, London, in 1994.
