Borrowdale

Upper valley of the River Derwent in the Cumbrian Lake District, south of Keswick, England. The river rises in the Sprinkling Tarn, close to Esk Hause (760 m/2493 ft) where several major walking paths converge, and flows down to Derwentwater. In its upper reaches, Borrowdale is dominated by some of the highest mountains in the Lake District, including Great Gable. In the lower part of the valley there are woods interspersed with farmland.
