Bosham

Village in West Sussex, England; population (2001) 4,100. It is situated 2 km/1.2 mi west of Chichester on the Bosham Channel, and is a popular yachting venue. It contains the ruins of a 7th-century monastery. According to legend, Bosham is the site of King Canute's attempt to turn back the sea.
