Boulder County

County in north-central Colorado, area 1,922 sq km/742 sq mi; population (1990) 225,300. Its capital is Boulder; the other large city is Longmont. With the Continental Divide (the Front Range) forming its western border, the county occupies Rocky Mountain foothills northwest of Denver. A diversified farming area with some mining and manufacturing, as well as Boulder's educational complex, it is also a collection of growing residential suburbs.

The county is drained to the east by the St Vrain Creek and Boulder Creek.
