English composer. He studied at Cambridge, and with Herbert Howells at the Royal College of Music, London, and was appointed lecturer at Bristol University in 1971.

Orchestral

two symphonies (1960, 1968), variations on a theme of Mozart, for double bass and orchestra (1967), symphonic fantasy The Astronauts (1969).

Vocal

Jabberwocky-Extravaganza for baritone, chorus, and orchestra (1963).

Chamber

string quartet (1962), two brass quintets (1965, 1972).
