Bowen, Louise deKoven (1859-1953)

US philanthropist and social reformer. Bowen used her family wealth to help ease poor social conditions. From 1893 to 1944 she was Woman's Club director, treasurer, and later president of Chicago's Hull House. She created a vital link between the wealthy inhabitants of the city and its social welfare network.
