Bowersox, Kenneth Dwane (1956- )

US astronaut. He flew two space shuttle missions to repair and service the Hubble Space Telescope: aboard Endeavour in December 1993 and, as commander, on Discovery in February 1997. He also made two shuttle flights aboard Columbia with the Microgravity Science Laboratory, in June 1992 and, as commander, in October 1995. He was a member of Expedition 6 on the International Space Station, being launched in Endeavour in November 2002 for five and a half months. He is currently the director of flight crew operations at the Johnson Space Center. Bowersox was selected as an astronaut in 1987.
