Bowness-on-Windermere| Residential and holiday town in Cumbria, England. It is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere, 13 km/8 mi northwest of Kendal. Bowness-on-Windermere is a centre for pleasure trips and water sports on the lake. The Windermere Steamboat Museum is nearby, and there is a regular car ferry service from Bowness-on-Windermere to Belle Isle on the lake. |
