Boyd, Anne (1946– )

Australian composer. She studied with Peter Sculthorpe in Sydney and with Bernard Rands in York, England, and was appointed head of the music department at Hong Kong University in 1980. Her music reflects oriental influences and includes some small-scale theatre pieces.

The Death of Captain Cook (1978).

Black Sun (1989), flute concerto (1992), Grathawai (1993).

three string quartets (1968, 1973, 1991); Wind across Bamboo wind quintet (1984).

choral and solo vocal music.
