Boyd, Bill

Boyd, Bill (1898–1972)

US film actor and producer. His first film role as an extra in Why Change Your Wife? (1920). A favourite of Cecil B DeMille, he revived his faltering career when he played Hopalong Cassidy in a series of popular Westerns. He bought the rights to the character and revived him on television in the 1950s.
