Boykan, Martin (1931– )

US composer and pianist. He studied with Walter Piston and Hindemith and has taught at Brandeis University since 1957. As a recitalist he performs serial music and works by avant garde Americans.

four string quartets (1949, 1967, 1974, 1984); quintet for flute, piano, and strings (1953); chamber concerto (1970); symphony (1989); Voyages for soprano and piano (1992); cello sonata (1992); Impromptu for violin (1993).
